A daily short-form series

Old philosophy for the moment you're in.

The Perpetual Shift publishes one short video a day that takes an idea from Stoicism, Existentialism, or Taoism and puts it next to a real, ordinary situation: the rejection email, the plan that fell apart, the choice with no guarantee attached.

Three series, one rotation

Each day takes a different tradition

The series rotate daily, so every third day returns to the same school of thought. Every episode is under a minute and anchored to a single passage from a primary source.

Stoicism

Marcus Aurelius · Epictetus · Seneca

The old discipline of separating what's yours to answer for from what isn't, for days upended by things you never agreed to.

Existentialism

Camus · Sartre · Kierkegaard

Meaning as something built, not found, for decisions that come with no guarantee attached.

Taoism

Lao Tzu · the Tao Te Ching

Working with the grain of things instead of against it, for situations that don't move by force.

How it's made

Small, deliberate, and sourced

The Perpetual Shift is an independent channel run by one person. Production is partly automated, but every episode starts from a real text and is published only to our own accounts.

1. Start from the source

Each episode is built around one passage from a primary text such as the Meditations, the Enchiridion, The Myth of Sisyphus, or the Tao Te Ching.

2. Ground it in a real moment

The script pairs the idea with a specific, everyday situation, so it's something you can use today rather than a lecture.

3. Publish everywhere at once

Finished videos are uploaded to our own YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook accounts through each platform's official publishing API.
